What Resonates With Us?
People need to feel resonance in four dimensions:
1️⃣ With other people
2️⃣ With material things – with objects, with what they work with
3️⃣ With surrounding reality – the universe, life, nature
4️⃣ With their own body and mind – with their SELF
As stated by German sociologist Hartmut ROSA in an interview for the magazine PSYCHOLOGIE DNES (12/2024), where he also says:
“Burnout is a state of being where nothing resonates with you.”
While reading this article, I thought about how valuable a coaching corporate culture can be in this respect — a culture that can awaken resonance: with people in the team, with the work environment, and most importantly, with oneself.
What often brings us to the edge of burnout? 🔥
▪ Passion for what we do
▪ Constant need to prove (to ourselves)
▪ Fighting for our truth
And what lies behind it?
Beliefs that no longer serve us and need to be replaced with new ones.
Or identification with our professional role, which makes us feel we are never “enough.” I know what I’m talking about — I’ve been there myself.
How can a manager support their people?
✔ Actively listen
✔ Ask open-ended questions
✔ Avoid judgment
When a manager recognizes the early signs of burnout, they can help people in their team rediscover lost resonance.
Developing coaching skills continues to inspire me. It’s amazing to see what can change when we take time to listen, ask the right questions, and support others in their growth.
And since it’s Advent, I plan to slow down this weekend and resonate with the scent of vanilla and cinnamon while baking Christmas cookies. 🎄🍪
What are your plans?
Wishing you a peaceful Advent weekend full of inspiration and holiday spirit!
